Question Kabir has recently shifted to a new city. He is helping his mother to set up the house. Kabir wants to move the bookshelf to a comer of the room. He applied a force of 50″ ” N to push the book shelf over some distance. During the process, the work done by him on the shelf is 750″ ” J. Calculate the distance by which he moved the book shelf.

Solving Kabir’s Problem

The work done on an object is given by the formula: Work = Force x Distance.

Since we know the work done (750J) and the force applied (50N), we can rearrange the formula to solve for distance: Distance = Work / Force.

Substituting the given values:

Distance = 750J / 50N = 15m.

So, Kabir moved the bookshelf a distance of 15 meters.
